Aroma had some floral hops and a bit of fruit. No citrus notes, which surprised me, but more of subtle strawberry notes. The hops take a back step to the unsweetened fruit flavor but return for a soft floral hops finish. Slightly overpowering bitterness.

On tap at the Beech Tree. Pours a clear orange with a thin to medium sized white head. Pine, earthy grain and light citrus. A little thin, light malt and a big quinine bitterness. A little one dimensional, but not bad.

Appearance: neat shade of amber with ruby. Creamy mid top. 3+ Nose: Mid rich caramel , some earthy hints as well followed by continental hop. Good. Flavor/Palate : Mid bodied , amber malts with bitter hop feel. Finish could be cleaner.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 18, 2009 Released in June apparently and sampled on draft in August, so...something may have been lost. but the nose was subtle, musty, with a small hint of berry...very certainly not very strong smelling. The color was bronze with nice microscopic bubbles woven together nicely on top like a silk sheet. Minty, somewhat stale hop flavors in a cardboard-like way. I can’t really make out what the willamette is bringing to this beer, everything it muddled to the point if incomprehensiveness. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 5, 2009 Draft at SFR. Pours dark straw with off-white head. Nose is caramel malt, hops, citrus. Tastes of caramel malt, tannic, citric, with some lemongrassy hops and earthy notes. Decent, but I agree that there are too many tannins in this, giving it an iced tea feel.
