Beer_2000 (1269), Kristiansand, Norway Jun 23, 2008 330ml bottle # 2. Hazy golden body with a creamy white head. Aroma is fruity with a little acidulous hint. Flavor is refreshing and acidulous, a little hint of apple vinegar. Finish is a bit sour as well. I know that this brewery had some problems with the earliest brew as they tend to become sour. This should be solved now and I’m looking forward to re-rate at next occasion as I have a good feeling for this to be a very promising brew.
RudeLead (3), Oslo, Norway does not count Sep 17, 2008 Okay... 0,33l Bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Røa, Oslo, Norway. Lovely honey golden colour, slightly hazy. White, long lasting head, BUT wayyy too much. Foams more than any belgian tripel or wheat beer I’ve ever seen. The most over carbonated beer I’ve ever seen.Tried 3 btls. All the same. Light aroma of floral and slightly lemony hops, barely noticeable light malt (some wheat?) and refined or light candi sugar (none of those are supposed to be in a pilsner, or what!?). The foam and head structure supports this theory too. Dry, acidic and foamy entrance on the palate the body is quite slim, but the creamy mousse makes the body seem bigger. Nice acid structure, though. Lemon/lime’ish, floral and Belgian blonde’ish sugar dryness and taste. Quite short aftertaste, but with a medium bitterness that lingers for sometime. All in all a bit unbalanced, certainly not a pilsner, more a bitter Belgian blonde and horribly overcarbonated and way too foamy. Papsoe (10359), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 10, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of yngwie. Hazy pale golden with a dense white head. Lightly tart fruit aroma. Medium body, lightly tart, fruity and spicy with quite some yeast. Rather bitter finish. Not completely terrible and not really a Pils. 030608 espenra (126), Oslo, Norway Aug 8, 2008 33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet. Batch 2. It poured a murky orange colour with a medium white head. The aroma smells of hops and grass. It has a dry, spicy and fruity flavour that tastes of malts, apricot and a hint of vinegar. It reminds me of a blend of lager and an IPA. Strange but pleasant. It has a short aftertaste. tarjei (1300), Bryne, Norway Aug 8, 2008 33 cl bottle - thank you yngwie. Bath # 2, best before 03/09. Slightly hazy golden color, very big and lasting white head. Aroma is hops and some citrus. Flavor is hops, malt, fruit. Fine malty and bitter finish. High carbonation. Not bad. thebeertourist (1889), Oslo, Norway Jul 26, 2008 Bottle, brygg no 2. Label states Yme Pils, but with 5.5% ABV (sold by Vinmonopolet after all), I suppose it is the Yme Pils Spesial. Gradually, the cloudy, grapefruit-coloured beer appears under the enormous, off-white head. Decent grassy hop aroma with hints of citrus. Toffee and grass flavours as well as a hint of grapefruit with good bitterness throughout. A quite good Kellerbier it has become.
