Light unclear golden color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, bread, dust, flowers. Flavor is moderate sweet, light light acidic and bitter with a average duration, and a dry finish. Body is medium to light, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (120408)
Papsoe (9980), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 10, 2008 (Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of yngwie. Hazy pale golden with a dense white head. Lightly tart fruit aroma. Medium body, lightly tart, fruity and spicy with quite some yeast. Rather bitter finish. Not completely terrible and not really a Pils. 030608 espenra (97), Oslo, Norway Aug 8, 2008 33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet. Batch 2. It poured a murky orange colour with a medium white head. The aroma smells of hops and grass. It has a dry, spicy and fruity flavour that tastes of malts, apricot and a hint of vinegar. It reminds me of a blend of lager and an IPA. Strange but pleasant. It has a short aftertaste. tarjei (1131), Bryne, Norway Aug 8, 2008 33 cl bottle - thank you yngwie. Bath # 2, best before 03/09. Slightly hazy golden color, very big and lasting white head. Aroma is hops and some citrus. Flavor is hops, malt, fruit. Fine malty and bitter finish. High carbonation. Not bad. thebeertourist (1764), Oslo, Norway Jul 26, 2008 Bottle, brygg no 2. Label states Yme Pils, but with 5.5% ABV (sold by Vinmonopolet after all), I suppose it is the Yme Pils Spesial. Gradually, the cloudy, grapefruit-coloured beer appears under the enormous, off-white head. Decent grassy hop aroma with hints of citrus. Toffee and grass flavours as well as a hint of grapefruit with good bitterness throughout. A quite good Kellerbier it has become. omhper (10393), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 15, 2008 Bottled at Petalax Beer Festival. Cloudy pale yellow, airy head - looks like Cantillon! Lemony rubber aroma. Dry and tart with highly acidic lambic flavour - tastes like Cantillon, but less complex and more rubbery. There is actually both barnyard and lemon. The flavour is not really bad at all, but rated as a pils it is the worst ever. The should relabel it Yme Lambic and do business with the rest of the batch. My most serious complaint against that is that no wheat malt is used...
