ebrowner88 (113), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Apr 6, 2008 Nice deep copper color. Fine white head with equally fine lace remaining. Best way to describe it is as a lite Guinness. I am not trying to be lazy o cheat, but if you are a guinness drinker you will definately taste it in this ale. I will definately start keeping some of this in my fridge. Good session beer. I tried this in the bottle as was not as impressed as i was with the tap. Maybe I should try again :)
REDBOSOX (42), Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts, USA Aug 31, 2008 This is a nice bronze-colored ale that looks good and tastes pretty decent. It has a dry, malty taste with a fair, though slightly metallic finish. Strange, considering it only went from the bottle to the glass. Still, it’s a fine beer that I’m sure to drink again. wheresthepath (226), Buckinghamshire, England Aug 28, 2008 [on tap at O’Naill’s, Reading] I’m sure ABV was 4.5%, but I could be wrong. Poured a deep chestnut brown with a small but lasting creamy head. Quite unusual to have a keg (ie non-cask-conditioned) nowadays that hasn’t been nitro’d - which is a shame as this clearly had far more flavour than the nitro’d Caffrey’s sold alongside it. In actual fact, for a keg ale, this is pretty decent - some brown sugar sweetness and plenty of malt followed by a fulfilling earthy hop bitterness. Nicely balanced, smooth and easy to drink. My only criticism would be a slight metallic note that came through in the aftertaste - but even this was far less pronounced than in other keg beers. I wonder just how good this beer could get if Diageo could be bothered to cask condition it... BillKismet (1410), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 28, 2008 Bronzish with characteristic Brit hops and and rather nondescript Brit flavor. An easy drinking pub ale with light malting. timfoolery (344), California, USA Aug 27, 2008 Had this on tap at Streets of London Pub in Sacramento, CA. This brew was very smooth and malty without having too much body. I could drink this one for hours. Very good. Pershing (83), Garland, Texas, USA Aug 23, 2008 Nice dark brown with a frothy head that lasted to the last drink. Roasted malty nose that is slightly dry. A nice beer for the price.
