Commercial Description:
A delicious brown ale with a deep chesnut color. Low hop rate and light carbonation make this brew a smooth and creamy number with a rich, malty-sweet finish. Look closely for the touch of roastedness in the background.

Bonus bottle from Nachlamsie. A hint of melanoidins when cap is popped. Very little head. Slightly cloudy amber color. Low aroma. Nutty flavor. A hint of smoke. Not bad.

12oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with a quickly dissipating head. Aroma is mostly roasted malts. Tastes of molasses, nut, and honey. Palate is a little sticky, with a strong oakey finish. Not bad.

On tap at the brewery. I wish that give this beer an honest review, but as soon as I had a sip, I forget what it tasted like. Not bad, just very bland. One of the most forgettable beers I have ever had.

On draft at the Gatlinburg brewpub. Really just an average beer. I’m not sure it fits the brown ale catagory. Amber to brown in color. Some maltiness in the nose. A sweet malty flavor.

Gatlinburg 12/22/07 Low hops and smooth and creamy are a good description. Very sweet finish with that coffee/chocolate aftertaste. Picked up a sixer to go.

Bottle. Brown sugar and malt aroma. Brownish amber color with small head. Sour malt, walnut, and brown flavors. Nice mouthfeel - the slight sourness really works well with this balancing well with the sweetness. Nice drinkable brown ale.

Draft sample at the brewpub in Pigeon Forge. Poured a clear dark brown color with a medium off-white frothy head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Medium toasted nutty malty aroma. Medium body. Medium toasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of average duration.
