slang (392), Columbia, South Carolina, USA Oct 15, 2009 draft. Very average German Oktoberfest, albeit this could have had more intense flavors. Still fresh, enjoyable, & hit the spot that day. nqualls (1429), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Nov 28, 2008 On tap at the Gatlinburg brewery. Poured a clear copper color with a one finger white head. lithy (1600), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Oct 13, 2008 Sampled at the 12th Annual Knoxville Brewer’s Jam. Clear light copper orange and a thin layer of white head with even lacing. Smooth sweet caramel malts and toastiness. Taste is more sweet caramel malts, butterscotch, bitscuits and a light nuttiness. A nice crisp hop finish. Very nice. shendrix (478), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Oct 31, 2006 A very drinkable marzen. Deeply copper with golden notes, a light head, and the aroma of vanilla malt. That’s what comes through in the flavor as well, with the vanilla lurking lightly in the background to balance out the biscuity flavor. Tastes creamy and lightly carbonated on the tongue. A beautiful Fall draft. Suttree (2702), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Oct 11, 2006 Brilliant Copper, decent white head. Bready, toasty aroma, with a touch of caramel in the background. Similiar flavors, but also nice background of piney hops and black pepper. Maybe even the faintest touch of alcohol heat in the finish. SpringsLicker (2041), Tennessee, USA Oct 11, 2006 Draught at brewpub.
Deep copper color over a small, fleeting white head.
Light caramel aroma.
The flavor is well balanced maltiness with just the right amount of underlying hop bitterness. Clean and well brewed.
Very drinkable, I’d like to see this one year-round. hopscotch (5440), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Oct 8, 2006 Draft... Clear, light amber ale with a small, fizzy, white head. The aroma is of caramel and Munich malt; biscuity. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter flavor. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Malty finish.
