Oct 31, 2006 A very drinkable marzen. Deeply copper with golden notes, a light head, and the aroma of vanilla malt. That’s what comes through in the flavor as well, with the vanilla lurking lightly in the background to balance out the biscuity flavor. Tastes creamy and lightly carbonated on the tongue. A beautiful Fall draft.

Nov 28, 2008 On tap at the Gatlinburg brewery. Poured a clear copper color with a one finger white head. Aroma of earth and caramel. Flavor was caramel malt and a slight hop finish.

Oct 13, 2008 Sampled at the 12th Annual Knoxville Brewer’s Jam. Clear light copper orange and a thin layer of white head with even lacing. Smooth sweet caramel malts and toastiness. Taste is more sweet caramel malts, butterscotch, bitscuits and a light nuttiness. A nice crisp hop finish. Very nice.

Deep copper color over a small, fleeting white head.
Light caramel aroma.
The flavor is well balanced maltiness with just the right amount of underlying hop bitterness. Clean and well brewed.
Very drinkable, I’d like to see this one year-round.

May 11, 2004 Nice amber-orange beer with a moderate white head with some lacing. Maltiness prevalent and lingering, with a nice balance of hops. Maybe a bit on the dry side.

Sep 24, 2005 Updated: Jan 18, 2006Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a transluscent but bold copper color with a thin, off-white head. The aroma is of grains, cereals, malts, and just a touch of earthy spices. It is a bit fizzy in the mouth. The flavor is burning leaves (not as bad as it sounds), toasted malt, faint sweetness, and some hay, and earthy hops are faintly detectable in the finish. Not really my style of beer, but pretty good for what it is.

Oct 11, 2006 Brilliant Copper, decent white head. Bready, toasty aroma, with a touch of caramel in the background. Similiar flavors, but also nice background of piney hops and black pepper. Maybe even the faintest touch of alcohol heat in the finish.
