Other times, it’s not very good at all. Basically, it’s a fizzy, golden, sweet lager. It’s pretty corny with some sticky sugar at times. However, there is a fair presence of some papery hops to liven things up just a notch. Not horrible, it’s better than the other golden lagers from this brewer. -------- 31, 2007] This batch was better than the last time I tried this. I recalled Thunder Road as having a significant hop presence in my pre-Ratebeer days and this was more reminiscent of that. The corn and sugar aspects were very in check with a respectable dry, woody finish today. Another testament to the inconsistency I’ve experienced at this brewery. Mangino (1027), Mississippi, USA

Sweet corn and light malts dominate the aroma but a slight note of lemon is also found. Flavor is similar to the aroma but I found that the lemon flavor was actually quite powerful in this one. On the palate this is light and crisp and clean. Decent with the pizza I had but I wasn’t impressed. jsquire (2123), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 24, 2005 Clear golden beer with only a faint, fizzy white head. Sweet nose with a faint citrus note. Flavor has some white sugar sweetness to it with salt and something metallic. Hops are pretty strong. Not a great beer but goes well with a sandwich. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jun 3, 2005 Grassy, citrusy, hoppy beer. I guess it is fairly true to style but a little thin. Bitter at the end. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA

Light straw to pale-golden color, rapidly fizzling head. Smells sour again (why do all of their beers smell sour?) with a hint of pils malt, just a hint. Flavor is a mix of honey, almonds and corn, which isnt tremendously appetizing. Light astringent bitterness on the end, very watery. Slightly sharp carbonation, but it dies off quickly. Should be reclassified as a "Pale Lager". gsteph (266), knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Flavor is clean and crisp, citrusy and hoppy, a touch malty. Finishes a bitter lemon like flavor. Good balance to the entire product and a good quencher as well.
