Dark molasses color with wispy head. I could smell NOTHING in this brew. I wish I could rate this an N/A for aroma, but that is not an option. I’ll give it a 4 in my rating for not offending me. The flavor (fortunately) has more going on. Smokey-toasted malt and a hint of coffee or chocolate. Relatively full body (more so than I expected). Carbonation makes it a bit harsh at first, but it mellows through the taste. Not bad.

bottle from OhioDad , thanks Scott. aroma of some coffee and a hint of smokey charcoal. very dark pour with little head and lace that seems to melt away. nice flavors of chocolate, coffee and mild hop bitterness. a decent porter out of the bottle but can see where this one might be a good .5 better on tap.

Bottle Pours a dark, nearly black witha small tan head and thick even lacing. Classic dark roasted aroma with some coffee and a littel of that porter sourness/twang. Flavor is a mild woody flavor. Not nearly as much of that smokey, charcoal flavor as the aroma hinted at. Rather pale tasting for the style witha pulpy, almost grassy trailer. Very littel hoppiness or biterness. Soft carbonation. Thanks to Ohiodad for this one

Bottle. Translucent, dark rusty brown body with a uniform, velvety tan head. Creamy chocolate aroma and flavor with a significant note of dark fruit. Medium sweet malt and light fruity acidity plus mild roast. Smooth and creamy with a medium-full body. Good, sweet, flavorful porter. Thanks SpringsLicker.

Thanks to OhioDad for this one. Aroma of chocolate, ash and something sour...hoping it isn’t infected. Deep black with no head. Dark roasted coffee flavors with a hint of chocolate and a hint of ashy smokiness that also tastes a little sour in the end. I don’t know if it is infected I’d guess not, but it has some out of balance flavors.

In appearance, everything a porter should be. In flavor, this brew caresses the tongue with a mild earthiness and hints of understated chocolate, with a pleasant aftertaste of roasted nuts. Not a bad brew for chatting with friends and bullshitting about politics.

Draught at brewpub. Pours a deep mahogany without much head. Aromas of alcohol and bitter chocolate. It has a robust flavor of chocolate malts and a bit of alcohol with a roasty finish. Good stuff, but a bit too unharmonious.

On tap in Knoxville, TN. Very dark brown with a small, dark head. Roast coffee and smoky nose. Rich and smooth mouthfeel, with sweet flavors of toasted malts, coffee, and dark chocolate. However, dries up near the finish, keeping it from becoming sticky or cloying. A great porter and definitely underrated by show of these ratings.
