| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 7, 2009 Bottle: Deep brown pour with a ruby hue and a tan fading head (becomes a film). Softly roasted aroma- dark crystal, nutty notes mesh with a rich chocolate presence. Light fluffy feel- light texture yet decent malt depth- roasted crystal with a pumpernickel notes and a rich natural chocolate presence. Simple, but solid profile. Thick mouthfeel, milk chocolate and very sweet, but there’s something spoiled on the edges that I can’t figure out. Skyview (4055), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 11, 2009 Receiped a 12-oz bottle via trade with Ilithy. Pours a semi-clear cola brown brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma of toasted dark malt, a hint of coffee and dark chocolate and roasted nuts. Taste is medium bodied, toasted dark malt, some chocolate and roasted hazelnuts. Finish is semi-sweet and has a toasted dark malt aftertaste with no bitterness. An average porter yet still quite tasty. mcox90 (641), Wilton, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 29, 2009 12 oz. bottle courtesy of Lithy. Pours a muddy dark brown with 1/4" tan head. Aroma is coffee and cocoa. Flavor is cocoa, coffee, milk chocolate, but with an odd chalky feel. Despite the chalk, I enjoyed it and I suspect this will be the best of the Smoky Mountain brews I got from Lithy. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
