Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a thin, wispy lacing tan head. Aroma of lightly sweet toasty pale dark caramel malt and some smoky dark fruits. Body starts lightly sweet and dark caramely with some earthy bittering hops and dark chocolate before a smooth, somewhat thin bittersweet finish. A decent smoky porter.

From tronraner, thank you. I believe this is the first beer I have ever had that was brewed in Tennessee, and it happens to be one with a name I can’t pronounce. It pours a water-y black color, meaning its all black but I do not get the feel of "motor oil" black. It’s probably because it looks a bit dead with almost no head or lacing. With a lot of stirring and vigorous shaking of the glass a nice tan foam appears, unfortunately even that quickly fades. Both taste and aroma are relatively similar and simple. They both have positive aspects of caramel, chocolate, milkiness, and light roast. All the good stuff you want in a nice porter. However, there are a few off putting aspects. There is a mineral quality more present in the flavor and a soapy-bean aspect more apparent in the aroma and aftertaste. But otherwise its light and easy drinking, leaves a long aftertaste with bitter chocolate. The mineral quality is felt in the mouthfeel as well, would like to see this a but thicker. It’s nice enough. As it warms the negative aspects become more apparent and the mineral mouthfeel grows as well,

Tap @ Gatlinburg Brew Pub. Pours very dark brown almost black with ruby highlights and a one finger mostly lasting tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, and light caramel. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium thin mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness. Good.

Thanks to whoever sent this my way! Poured a deep shade of chocolatey/cola-ey brown with just a faint dusting and a light ring of beige head. The aroma picked up medium-roasted milk and slightly darker chocolates, an odd, generic dark maltage showed up, and didn’t do much for me.. weak overall. The flavor had some darker roasted chocolates and molasses at the core with some toasty grains.. again, not necessarily bad, but nothing good going on. Lighter-bodied and roasty on the palate with a sticky finish. This was a drinkable, below-average porter.

Pours almost black with a frothy cream head and lacing throughought. Smells roasty an chocolaty. Taste is delightful. Roasty, caramel and a little cocoa. Smooth as silk in the mouth and extremely drinkable and $2.75 for a 32oz mug full which is utterly insane!!

12 oz bottle via Homebrew Mystery Swap (thanks DecaturStevo!). THis one pours almost black with an average sized head. Not getting much from the nose, just a bit of maltiness and subtle fruity esters. Tastes like typical porter fare..some toastiness, a little chocolate, some nuttiness, and a bit watery in the finish. Body is light, carbonation is high. A slightly below average porter.
