| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Feb 6, 2006 12oz bottles acquired in trades with Sutree and SpringsLicker (thanks!). Poured a dark black with an averaged sized off white head. So far so good. Major buttered popcord aroma and not much else. Tastes of lesser butter with some chocolate and roasted malts. I thought it was a bad bottle so I opened up my 2nd bottle right away. Less butter in the aroma but it was still there. 2 separate bottles from different people and almost the same. Yuck. hopscotch (5483), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Small, creamy, well-tanned head. The aroma is of hazelnut and vanilla coffee beans with a splash of chocolate. Well-balanced chocolate flavor. Medium-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Lengthy, chocolate and coffee, dry finish. Very nice beer. Thanks to springslicker for the bottle! Aroma of lightly sweet toasty pale dark caramel malt and some smoky dark fruits. Body starts lightly sweet and dark caramely with some earthy bittering hops and dark chocolate before a smooth, somewhat thin bittersweet finish. A decent smoky porter. jcwattsrugger (5333), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
