Commercial Description:
Continental style lager enjoyed throughout Europe. Visions of the Liter Stein-laden "Bier Fraus" bespeak the drinkability of this smoothest and most quaffable of lager beers. Less hoppy than Pilsner and very drinkable. Deep straw color. Balanced with Bavarian hops. Aged a full 6 weeks at 32°F.

Bottle from brewery. Light malt aroma (also a burnt rubber aroma - apparently must be something with their bottling as all their lighter bottled beers have this aroma). Golden yellow with small head. Creamy malt flavor - decent body. A nice beer especially for the style.

Pours a clear golden yellow urine with a small white head. Aroma of wheat, barley and light hops. Taste of wheat, barley, corn malt and light hops. Not bad for a lager.

Draft sampler at Pigeon Forge. Poured an amber color with a moderate fizzy white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Light sour citrus hop aroma. light to medium body with soft carbonation. Medium bitter flavor with a medium bitter finish of moderate duration. Much the same drinkable brew.

A clean golden yellow pour with a good white head. Not much on the nose at all for me. A bit of the wet paper smell and taste that I usually associate with lagers. The flavor was pretty much light corn and the wet paper. A bit of bitter to the beer as well. A tad thin but carbonation was good. Not my favorite style but a decent beer that would probably be good at a sporting event like baseball when its hot outside. I liked it ok.

Pours out a very pale yellow color with a huge white head. Aroma is somewhat hoppy but other than that nothing but corn. Not much going on here and nothing that i will drink again.

A very clean looking lager out of the bottle. White head that lasts as long as a Miller Lite. Kind of a sweet nose to it. On first sip, was very weak and watery, but it smoothed out a bit. Somewhat crisp and clean, but overall, nothing to write home about.

Draft, various Calhouns locations. The first one I had about 5 years ago was excellent, smooth and delicately balanced taste. The next dozen or so were very unbalanced, with varying taste and aroma problems - corn, soured grapes, skunk, over-hopped, etc. mostly all having to do with not enough aging, I think. I have given up on trying them anymore.
