It is SUPPOSED to have a light flavor profile. This beer has won GABF awards, for God’s sake! It is a nice simple yellow color, with a thin white head. Nice malt nose, followed by a large malt taste and terrific mouthfeel. Very true to style. Hops present, but nicely folded in with the malt.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Dec 4, 2006 I was expecting to hate this. I unhappily took the bottle out of my cellar, knowing that I should drink it as fresh as possible even though I had many better options. I’ve been very pleasantly surprised. To me (with little lager experience), this a well refined and great example of the style. Aroma is light, saazy and spice, corn, cream of wheat, brown sugar. Taste is and good combination of both sweet (at the start) and dry (at the finish), with light hops, bread, ginger. Very drinkable, perfect carbonation and palate. I’m going totally against the grain here on this one. maltdog (518), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 25, 2004 Draught. Pretty gold color. Smallish head disappears quickly. Bready aroma, maybe also some creamy oakiness? Profound bread-and-butter malt flavor, appropriate to style. Rich malty finish gives the impression of being more full bodied than it really is. Carbonation a little light but ok. Hint of grassy hops at the end. Well made Helles. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of malt, firm honey, some hopcit. Nice aroma. Tastes smooth, malty, with tons of honey flavor and some fruity hops. Very smooth palate, which gets more citrusy as it warms. This is an outstanding Helles. Volgon (2490), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

Sweet malt and honey aroma. Flavor of sweet malts a little corn honey and a slight hop finish. Very smooth on the palate and quite a delicious beer for the style. Bought a six pack of the bottles to take home as well. This was one of the best brews at the pub.
