Jmichael (529), Asheville, North Carolina, USA Mar 11, 2008 pours a clear red copper with mild almost non existent aroma. sweet malty front with dry finish. ok but not great.
boto (1197), Granby, Connecticut, USA Feb 21, 2008 Draught: This one pours a brownish dark amber color. Mine had very little head to it. I found the aroma to be a little thin, even after I let it warm up from its ice cold pour. I did get some spices and a bit of caramel malt to the nose. The taste came off as sweet. There was caramel malt sweetness to it, but it tasted overly sweet, almost like it had a half a spoon of sugar in it. There was a fair amount of spiciness and a hint of hops, but not near enough to cover up the sweetness. Just OK. dolemite77 (139), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Feb 16, 2008 cloudy amber with zero head. Smells rich and Malty. Good flavor typical of winter warmer type beers. Very Malay with noticable alcohol. A little too "creamy" for me though. fishingnet (711), Brandon, Florida, USA Jan 20, 2008 Tap @ Gatlinburg Brew Pub. Pours a clear amber with a small off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of light caramel, a hint of roasted malt, and light floral hops. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness and slightly sweet finish. Good. Anglofile (131), Piti, Guam Jan 1, 2008 Dark, with a very little head thanks to whoever poured it from the draught. Very nice use of the heavy alcohol (they told me it was well over 10%) because it slides down the palate. Complex taste and aroma to match.
