Dark brown, almost black with nice lacing. mild liqourice flavor that gives way to a malty molasses flavour. Over all not a bad beer. basewars (145), Albany, New York, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Sep 11, 2009 Pours black with thick brown head which quickly dissipates. Minimal lacing. Aroma is full of raisins and chocolate. A slight bit of hops are detectable and a bit of port. Flavor is of chocolate and fruit. Plenty of coffee as well. Full bodied to say the least.
As it warms it mellows. The alcohol seems to dissipate (or maybe I’m just drunker), and the fruitier notes come forth.
Plenty happening in this one. Great beer. Beardface (991), Eugene, Oregon, USA

Oregon coach Chip Kelly is a New Hampshire native, so I figured it would be a tribute. Despite all that, this beer was still tasty as hell, very roasty with some oat, chocolate and coffee. Nice deep brown color as well. Tasty damn beer, too bad it couldn’t bring a victory. Ungstrup (15111), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 10, 2009 Bottled. A pitch black beer with an orangey-brown head. The aroma has notes of sweet and roasted malt, chocolate, and cittrus. The flavor is sweet and acidic from the rosted malt combined with notes of alcohol and lighter notes of soy sauce. The alcohol burns the tongue and palate. Butters (1646), Virginia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 7, 2009 Bomber sampled at Butters’ 1500 / MmmcKay’s 200 tasting. Near black pour with wispy tan head. Notes of expresso, rich milk and bitter chocolates, roasty oats, a little boozy, but not overpowering. Medium chewy creamy body. Great beer at a reasonable price is a terrific combonation in my book. smith4498 (874), Miami, Florida, USA

Aroma of roasted malts, brown sugar, hints of coffee, dark fruit. Similar taste, very warming. Very good stout, er, I mean baltic porter. MmmcKay (276), Brentwood, Tennessee, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Sep 7, 2009 Pours black with a reddish tan head. Smells of smoke, dehydrated coffee, instant coffee. Nice long creamy mouth feel. Spice, coffee, clean flavors. Surprising for this style. Expected more cloying flavors. Good stuff.
