Commercial Description:
Native to northern Europe, Baltic porters evolved from British porters once exported to the Russian hinterland. Unlike their British cousins, Baltic porters are often brewed as lagers, the tradition we’ve followed. This beer is big, bold & smooth, with malty flavors reminiscent of coffee, dark fruit & raisins. Bottle with thanks to coyotehunter. Pours a dark brown with little head. Aromas? well, there’s a bit of dark malt, with some grapefruit or something hoppy, bananas and Hubba Bubba. Flavor is cola-like, with a very fizzy texture has a bit of cloves, some vanilla and a little wood.

Bottle. Pours a dark black with a beautiful dark tan head that persists until the very end of the glass. Aroma of coffee and roast. Flavor of coffee, roast, chocolate, slight raisin as the beer warms. This is a thick, rich beer, very reminiscent of an imperial stout. Very creamy. Excellent.

Bottle. Black pour with a moderately thick dark tan head. Nice aroma of mild powdered cocoa, slight chocolate. Nice mouthfeel. The taste is quite chocolately and is more intense than the aroma would let on. A very rich, very well put together baltic, I’m going to try and stock up on these.

22 oz bomber. Poured a dark brownish/black body with a sticky beige head. Aroma of pudding skins, espresso, roastiness, chocolate. Flavor is similar to the aroma with chocolate and roastinesss being upfront. Palate is medium bodied with an average carbonation. Good stuff all around, solid.

22oz bottle. Silky black pour with a thin head of dark tan cream. Dark chocolate aroma, but not a lot of roast. I like what I’m smelling. I think baltic porters should be more on the chocolate side than burnt roast. There is only the slightest amount of dark fruit or vinous flavors, but those that are there are welcome. This is an extremely well-put-together beer. I like it.
