Poured a deep brown/black color with a moderate tan head that diminished to a thin layer. Aroma of chocolate malt, some caramel, light brown sugar, some moderate dark fruit (plum, grape, and fig) and a hint of yeast. Smooth, lightly sweet entry with some chocolate malt and some light toffee/caramel that transitions into a moderate fruitiness (plum, red grape) that finishes smooth with some light roasted coffee. Moderate carbonation. Smooth, thick, and full on the palate. Definitely a good beer, I could use a couple of these. Sparky27 (1608), Phoenix, Arizona, USA

Pours a crude oil black with 2 finger brown head but not much lacing. Nose is roasted coffee, chocolate and burnt malt. Taste is mild coffee, some dark fruits, chocolate and toasted grains with a slightly bitter dry finish. Full, creamy mouth feel. Very warming. This stuff is fantastic – thanks Joshua! timsilvia32 (447), from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 25, 2009 22 oz. Very nice looking dark pour, nearly black with some brown head. Chocolate, molasses, peat and roast malt aroma. Flavor matches these well. Plenty of dark chocolate, roast malt and some coffee. More coffee and licorice in the finish. Thick full body, good carbonation. Gets a little more bitey when it warms for a while, only because it was still near 80 out and I drank the whole bomber. Drinkability is excellent, abv not noticeable at all. One of the better Baltic’s I’ve had for sure. BOLTZ7555 (1107), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 30, 2009 This one caught me off guard. I took a sip and, without anyone else in the room, said "Wow". Thought I had already rated this but was mistaken. Visually, this one is about as close to midnight as a porter can be with a latte colored head that leaves Rorschach inkblot-test lacing. I watched as a massive bubble popped, leaving a huge crater in the foam; staying 30+ seconds before melding into the rest of the froth. The aroma is all cocoa, molasses, and dark fruit. The flavor shows vanilla, chocolate, brown sugar, and molasses. Medium mouthfeel bordering viscous. A very good beer. Butters (1651), Virginia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 7, 2009 Bomber sampled at Butters’ 1500 / MmmcKay’s 200 tasting. Near black pour with wispy tan head. Notes of expresso, rich milk and bitter chocolates, roasty oats, a little boozy, but not overpowering. Medium chewy creamy body. Great beer at a reasonable price is a terrific combonation in my book. darkguardian (506), Florida, USA

Nose is quite malty. Not much hops to be found. Lots of chocolate and light roast coffee. Rich full body with lots of chocolate flavor and a hint of coffee that peaks through. A very malty porter but at the same time the sweetness never becomes overbearing. This is one of the best porters I’ve had. Definitely Smutty’s best beer. Outstanding. daknole (3023), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 4, 2008 Bottle Thanks to jjpm74. 22oz pours black with a moderately sized mocha colored head, which diminishes into a ring fairly quick. Aromas of caramel malt, chocolate, dark fruits, plums, figs, and roasted coffee. Flavors are at first smooth and silky chocolate and dark fruit. Then it transforms into a coffee and warm alcohol finish. I had this on the first big snow of the year, and I couldnt of picked a better night for such a great beer.
