Commercial Description:
Native to northern Europe, Baltic porters evolved from British porters once exported to the Russian hinterland. Unlike their British cousins, Baltic porters are often brewed as lagers, the tradition we’ve followed. This beer is big, bold & smooth, with malty flavors reminiscent of coffee, dark fruit & raisins. Dark brownish/black pour with a long lasting brown head, this is a good looking beer. Creamy mouthfeel with roasty flavors along w/ dark fruit, this is quite tasty. All in all, I think that this is very well done.

Yikes, what a great beer! On draft and very impressvie. Burnt motor oil pour with immmediate chocolate and coffee notes boomy out above a tastey thick beige head. Cocolate and slight fruit taste with a warm and wonderful mouthfeel. Yes, there is alcohol (might be only drawback on a warm spring day), but it suits the malt quite well.

Thanks iowaherkeye for sharing. The body was black with an orange brown head. The aroma was chocolate chip pancakes with some massive malt. A little bit of rasins also come into play. The taste was chocolate and malt with some roasted nuts. This had a nice and thick body. Definitely a sipper, but solidly made.

This is becoming a preferred style of mine. This one looks gorgeous. Black, thick dark brown head. Nice lacing too. Aroma is oaky, along with big bag of dried fruit, some mochachino. The palate is light at 1st, then it warmed and tasted a bit boozy, rich, oily, roasted malt present, nice. Very true to the style and enjoyable.

Poured an opaque brown color with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, light smoke, pine, and floral hops. Taste of more smoke, chocolate, roast, dark fruits, raisins, and vanilla, with a bit of alcohol in the finish. Creamy mouthfeel.

Ebony with a thin but lasting tan head. Plummy and choclatey nose. Roasted malt, ton of coffee, big finish.

Bottle shared with and courtesy of GregClow. Pitch black, huge brownish head. Great aroma featuring a ton of roast and some alcohol. Taste features more roast - actually very little of the expected Baltic sweetness here. But man, is that roast every tasting and integrating well with the powerful yet soothing alcohol. Wonderful medium body that manages to be silky yet well carbonated. Long warming alcohol finish with even more lingering roast. Great stuff, but blind I would call this an Imperial porter and not a Baltic...
