Commercial Description:
Native to northern Europe, Baltic porters evolved from British porters once exported to the Russian hinterland. Unlike their British cousins, Baltic porters are often brewed as lagers, the tradition we’ve followed. This beer is big, bold & smooth, with malty flavors reminiscent of coffee, dark fruit & raisins. This is becoming a preferred style of mine. This one looks gorgeous. Black, thick dark brown head. Nice lacing too. Aroma is oaky, along with big bag of dried fruit, some mochachino. The palate is light at 1st, then it warmed and tasted a bit boozy, rich, oily, roasted malt present, nice. Very true to the style and enjoyable.

Poured an opaque brown color with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, light smoke, pine, and floral hops. Taste of more smoke, chocolate, roast, dark fruits, raisins, and vanilla, with a bit of alcohol in the finish. Creamy mouthfeel.

22 oz bomber. Pours a thick oily black with a thick creamy light brown head. Aroma of roasted coffee beans and malt, black licorice and chocolate. Taste is creamy and smooth with a malty presence and hints of roasted coffee beans, black licorice and dark chocolate. Excellent !!

22 ounce bottle from jjpm74. Pour dark chocolate syrup brown with a lighter brown head. The nose is of a mocha with too much chocolate. It may be a flaw in coffee, but not so much here. Robust flavors. Coffee, fudge, raisins, chewing tobacco, and some ashy smoke. Really good. Huge body. The carbonation is a bit prickly. Dry roasted finish. This is really a wonderful beer.

66cl bottle. Thanks a lot Chris. Pours pitch black with a small creamy brown head. Lots of roasted malts, chocolate & coffee, & dark fruits. A bit ashy - only pleasant. Smooth! Round & vinous. Very nice!

Bottle: Near black pour with a large, fluffy tan head. Clumpy lacing. Sweet aroma of dark fruits, mocha, roastiness, and a heavy coffee presence. Flavor is heavy with coffee up front, but it almost seems like there is a creamer in the tail? Plenty of roast and a little bittersweet dark chocolate. Smooth and creamy mouthful. Enjoyable. Thanks to The_Epeeist for this trade item.
