Totally burnt offering to smell here, with wisps of chocolate, vanilla and almonds. Little bit of a figgy deep fruited quality to taste and the viscous chewy body was super velvety. The body unfolded quite nicely as the session wore on and deepened in complexity and syrupy goodness. This one falls in the "sip" category and was a face flusher for sure for me. Nicely done. phaleslu (522), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

This was part of a weekend-long drinking session with Shawn and some other friends, and one in which I tried a few Baltic Porters for the first time. After the Utenos and Baltika 6- which were both solid, if unspectacular- this showed me what the style is capable of. Pours a lovely black with a little tan head that hangs around for the ride. Dried fruit, molasses, coffee, chocolate, alcohol, and roasted malts on the nose. Flavor is roast malts, dried fruit, coffee, chocolate, and alcohol. Thick, oily body, and incredibly smooth. Rich, complex and well-balanced. douglas88 (1604), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

Pours a very dark hue with a medium creamy brown head. The instant I open this beer a aroma wafts out that instantly tells me I am in for a awesome drink. The aroma is rich roasted malts, dark fruits and cocoa- not an overwhelming nose. The flavor was excellent; instantly I get my fix for my favorite flavor; loads of rich oily dark fruits. Very nice. There is tons of toasted cocoa and light coffee as well. Silky and fruity at first, as it warmed the burnt flavors of cocoa were more prevalent. Overall, top notch. A gem. papajohn (1055), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA

Aroma of sweet dark toasty caramel and roasted malts with a touch of black cherries. Body starts fairly full, rich and dark caramely sweet with some sticky roasty smoky character and raisin flavor before a doughy dark chocolate finish. A nice Baltic porter. goldtwins (4080), Nesconset, New York, USA
