The aroma has notes of sweet and roasted malt, chocolate, and cittrus. The flavor is sweet and acidic from the rosted malt combined with notes of alcohol and lighter notes of soy sauce. The alcohol burns the tongue and palate. Braudog (3766), Dayton, Ohio, USA

The aroma is thick and big, smoky and chocolatey. Drinks with a thick oily complexion, the slight warming aspect the first impression. The flavor leans towards burnt chocolate, bad coffee, and a bit of ashy smokiness. Good. (#3433, 4/23/2008) drewbeerme (2282), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Much darker than I was initially thinking. Deep aromas and flavours of raisins, bittersweet chocolate, candied fruit. A bit of coffee and a vinous character. A little bit of brewers licorice on the back end. Good balance between the hop profile and malt backbone. Good viscosity which gave a nice sensation for the mouthfeel. Very nice representation of a baltic porter and another solid offering by Smuttynose. Miver (566), WillowStreet, Pennsylvania, USA

Mouth feel has a nice breadiness, with tastes of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits. Seams highly carbonated which seems to bring out a slight alcohol warming in the finish. Pretty good.
