| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 4, 2008 Pours an opague black body with some subtle red notes and a sticky brown foam. The aroma is quite chocolaty with some roasted, somewhat charred malts, plums, anise, and a little alcohol. Flavors are more milk chocolate and less bitter choc., with some earthy smoke and nuts coming through in the finish. Some alcohol in the aftertaste but it comes off tasting more like spearmint. Creamy, somewhat oily palate. Really good stuff. Pailhead (2609), Allen Park, Michigan, USA

Bottle: The aroma has lots of chocolate and caramel with some light fruit and just a hint of roastiness. It pours a dark brown with no transparency and a moderate tan head. The flavor starts with lot of chocolate. There’s a hint of fruit (cherry & plum) in the background. The finish has lots if caramel with a hint of roasted coffee. Medium-full bodied with moderate soft carbonation and slightly oily mouthfeel. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA

Smells of big roasty toasted malts, with a lighter chocolate influence. Smells pretty inviting. The flavor is much of th same, as the roasty malts and nuts make up most of its flavor characters. The chocolate was there for moral support. Very nicely balanced, great flavor. Had a touch of some coffee in there too. Another great offering from Smutty. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 6, 2009 Bottle. Black pour with a moderately thick dark tan head. Nice aroma of mild powdered cocoa, slight chocolate. Nice mouthfeel. The taste is quite chocolately and is more intense than the aroma would let on. A very rich, very well put together baltic, I’m going to try and stock up on these. yngwie (5019), Kristiansand, Norway

Heavy on the nose, with chocolate, malt and beefstock. Sweet and malty flavor, with chocolate and a nice piney hoppyness. Full-bodied, oily, warm and sticky-sweet in the mouth, really pleasant. The finish is long, with chocolate and coffee. A really lovely one, sure one of the best of the night. (080823) lordeche (397), Quincy, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 30, 2008 Pours viscous black with less than a finger of tan head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, raisin, and dark fruit. Flavor contains largely coffee notes up front, complemented by dark chocolate in the middle, and raisin, fig, licorice, and slight hop bitterness at the end. Fairly thick and creamy body finishes slightly dry. One of the better Baltics I’ve had the pleasure of consuming.
