| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 4, 2008 Pours a dark amber color. Sudsy whitish head that doesn’t last too long. Smell is fruity and vegetal to me. Not particularly appealing but not bad. Taste is caramel with hops in balance but with a definite alcohol presence noticeable. Slightly thin, and flavor was too alcohol driven for it to be very enjoyable. decaturstevo (1997), decatur, Tennessee, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 24, 2005 a mahogony colored pour w/ a thick off white head ok lacing. Smells of a large hop front w/ a nice sweet malt backbone hints of oranges and light spices. Palate is full and creamy fairly well carbonated. Flavor is a bitter grass hop a light carmel malt hints of alcohol not much else this may improve w/ some aging to mellow and blend it out better. Overall a decent beer but not great.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 10, 2007 bottle-2006. Man, this one suprised me. I was expecting something pretty bad gauged buy "friends" ratings of this beer. lightly hazy bright amber with a small smooth small bubble head. carmel, earthy hops, light must, and alchohol on the nose. Pretty interesting nose, even if its pretty simple for a barleywine. big carmel fruity malts on the start of the flavors, which are dried out by a wonderful earthy and lightly resinous/dirty hop note on the finish. must use chinook or EKG on this one. definatley have a resionous hop presence. body is lush with very fine carbonation and slick mothfeal. I dig this one! Would make a GREAT aging barleywine and has characteristics of SN bigfoot in the hop profile.
