22 oz. bottle - november ’07 release; thanks to biegaman for the trade a while back; pours clear, dark orange with foamy tan head fading to small bubbles around the edges; just a beauty; sweet aromas of sugar, spicy hops, alcohol, herbs, dank fruit; drinks very nice with a slight syrup quality to it; very smooth w/ minor touch of heat; a little citrus with mild brown sugar; flavor a little on the light side, but this is a lovely sipper

Pours a deep copper color with a thin head.Sweet fruit aroma. The alcohol was present here but not overwhelming. The dark fruits appeared to balance it out.A small alcohol burn at the end, but overall a good brew.

2005 bottle. Lovely dark amber color with a thin white head. Brown sugar, plum, and vanilla in the aroma. Alcohol sort of dominates the flavor of this one but there is some hints of dark fruit in the background and more vanilla. There is no mention of bourbon barrel aging on the label but it does have a bourbon like quality about it. As the beer warms I have a harder time trying to get through it. The alcohol presence is too much and damn near drowns out everything else. Not my favorite barleywine. Eventually poured out.

Pours ruddy brown with no head. Malty dried fruit nose and flavor. A solid BW.

I drank a 22 ounce bomber while home brewing. Heavy fruit (apple) and alcohol nose. Thanks to its low bubbles had an iced tea appearance. At first the cold beer had an overbearing alcohol taste. However, as the barley wine warmed the taste became sweeter. Mild hop bitterenss, but a buxom mouthfeel. Drinking 22 ounces gave me a numbing effect.

I have had my bottle for some time, not even sure how long. Poured Deep amber, with a off white creamy head. Aroma of earth, wood, vanilla, bourbon. Taste had all plus caramel. The alcohol was present, almost a distraction.

I picked this up at Discount Liquors in Milwaukee. 2007 bottle. Deep Red pour with a creamy head that coats the glass. Candied fruit nose, with a bit of light hops. Rich, butter scotchy, caramelly, fruity flavor. Creamy, thick mouthfeel. The alcohol is very well hidden. Really mellow and well-balanced barely wine, and its Pretty good to drink.
