| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 1, 2004 I drank a 22 ounce bomber while home brewing. Heavy fruit (apple) and alcohol nose. Thanks to its low bubbles had an iced tea appearance. At first the cold beer had an overbearing alcohol taste. However, as the barley wine warmed the taste became sweeter. Mild hop bitterenss, but a buxom mouthfeel. Drinking 22 ounces gave me a numbing effect. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA

Poured Deep amber, with a off white creamy head. Aroma of earth, wood, vanilla, bourbon. Taste had all plus caramel. The alcohol was present, almost a distraction. boto (1350), Granby, Connecticut, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 16, 2005 22oz. bomber: This beer poured an amber color, that was a touch hazy. it has absolutely no head to it at all, and almost no carbonation. The aroma is nice. Some sweeter fruits in there, as well as a hint of hops burried in the background. The taste has some bitterness to it up front, followed by some malt sweetness. Somewhat spicy with fruits also. Not bad. fly (1333), austin, Tejas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 19, 2004 desert barleywine as compared to many west coastal ones. apricot, figs, mouthcoating, sweet finish. not always my preference, but I sure enjoyed this one. radagast83 (1317), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 17, 2008 22 oz bottle, 2007. Poured a copper color, with a medium head. Aroma is pretty floral, with notes of yeast, cherry, and pines. Flavor is a lot more hoppy than I would have imagined a barley wine would be, brown sugar, malts, and slight fruit to it as well. Alcohol is not masked a whole lot, but at 10% I wouldn’t expect it to. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 5, 2003 Candy sweet, vanilla aroma and flavor too. Fruity with a pecan, nut-like touch. Yumm. My only complaint is the high alcohol nose and finish. Hoppy. Nice. TChrome (1303), Bedford, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2004 Beer pours copper color with red highlights and has a fairly small rapidly diminishing off white head. Aroma is sweet malt with a nice dose of hops thrown in. A bit floral and aged in the nose. Flavor is initally pretty sweet. Finish is a bit purfumey from the hops. Decent.
