Pours a translucent copper with a smaller creamy/bubbly off white head. Aroma of dark fruits, toffee, caramel, butterscotch and some hints of vanilla. Flavor of dark fruits, butterscotch, vanilla, nuts, light hop...not sure of the year for this bottle...my guess is a 2006 since it has seemed to mellow a bit.

Pours a thick, rusty brown. The head was light brown but went away as fast as it came. The taste is malty but with an obvious hop bitterness. There is an oily and slightly bitter feel on the palate. This beer could do with some aging. Decent but nothing overwhelming.

Bomber from my cellar. Pours brown with a tan head. Nose is sweet with big notes of dried fruit. Taste is sweet and malty and caramelly. Over all a bit more cloying than I’d expect.

Dark red with hints of brown. Small bubbly head. Fruity aroma of cherries, pears, figs, raisin and starfruit.Flavour starts malty of cherries, gigs and red apples. Finishes really hop bitter with a light peppery undertone.

Nice amber color with a very small head. Seducing aromas of caramel, malt and alcohol. Great, powerfull flavors of caramel, malt, hops and alcohol. Very good, very enjoyable.

Big hops aroma, some malt as well, tequila sunrise colour, teeny beige head. Hops are front and centre here, with some decent malt, caramel and almond. Medium bodied, bitter, pleasant mouthfeel. Pretty good.

Pours a light amber/copper with a medium white head. Lighter bodied with a nice balanced sweetness to hop ratio. Not overly thick and sweet but easily drinkable with a mellowed alcohol taste. This bottle was aged a bit so some of its initial hotness has been burnt off leaving a very nice mellowed barleywine.

(Rating #949)
