Great hazy orange/amber color with wonderful white head that leaves great lacing. Nose is SUPER hopped with pink grapefruit. Taste is dead on Imperial IPA with hop front, center and rear along with a ton of grapefruit and some nice lemon undertones. Full bodies mouth feel with a creamy finish. Very nice. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 8, 2007 Bomber from Capone’s in East Norriton, PA...from whence I get to try a lot of new (to me) beers. This brew rivals Bell’s Hopslam for its grapefruitiness. And, that is a good thing. This slighty cloudy, amber-orange ale is pleasant surprise. There are a lot of standard DIPA’s out there, but this one is full of full-bodied bitterness. It borders on that creaminess that really like in a higher alcohol DIPA. One great brew.

Big fan, after having there regular IPA, that smelled like a toliet, i was worried, but this was all good. Lots of hops, decent hop bite for a DIPA, not to fruity though despite all the grapefruit. Good stuff, would buy again, and for 3 bucks a bomber, you cant lose boboski (1095), Alabama, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 29, 2007 Small off white head, slowly receding, leaving behind adequate lacing. Hazy light amber body, orange hues at the edges. Aroma is somewhat malty, crisply hoppy with accents of grapefruit and apricot, some orange, hints of lemon. Flavor is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, with subtle bitterness that peaks near the finish. Finishes mildly dry and lightly acidic. Palate is light to medium in body with relatively low stickiness. This is a very smooth IPA, crisp and fruity. Alcohol is medium intensity, steady, nicely sidelined by a hearty malt bill. Nothing stands out, though that just leaves me with a very drinkable beer. Nice to have a DIPA that isn’t over the top regarding bitterness or confounding hop presence. Balanced, though I don’t think that’s entirely what Smuttynose is shooting for when they brew this. groot (7), USA does not count | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 27, 2007 squeeze the grapefruit in my mouth! i love this double ipa, a real treat. a lovely dry-hopped finish, balanced well with a semii sweet malt backbone, not overly compensated. hops prevail! cab (864), Denmark

An orangecoloured unclear brew with hazy look inviting with an aroma of fresh fruits to something lovely. Flavor is dominated by fresh hops and it means that it is a direct line from the aroma to the flavor. That’s great in the IIPA-style, where it seldom is a reality. Dryhopped finish!
