Aroma of rose hips and some butterscotch in the background. Intense with taste hops. It’s almost like a hop yoghurt or a full bodied hop pudding... Had to order a pint of water on the side. This is massive and filling. Too demanding for me. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA

Aroma is the usual... grapefruit, citrus, pine, etc etc. Mouthfeel is fighting a battle with a delicate smoothness and a rough alcoholic finish. In the end it’s up in the air. Still a solid IIPA, but nothing really interesting here other than my BAC. Odeed (1677), Bakersfield, California, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 11/20 | Jul 19, 2005 Bottled. Pale amber, rich head. Lovely intense roma of grapefruit and lychee. Sweet with soft mouthfeel but clean flavour profile and an excess of sugar and syrup. Plenty of hops, but along with the pepperyalcohol it turns almost inky, and the finish is extremely bitter. Promising aroma, but severely out of balance - I want more malt, less sweetness and certainly less ink. lamas (722), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 18, 2005 22 oz. bottle from 2005. A hazy orange pour with tons of little floaties and a thick, bubbly off-white head. Lots of citrusy hops in the aroma of course, but also more alcohol showing through than in other I2PAs I’ve tried. This makes the aroma a little sweeter than I’m used to for this style. It leans more toward the oranges than the grapefruits. A good bit of warming alcohol present in the taste shows my nose wasn’t wrong. The hops still dominate the flavor though. Smooth, yet lacking the tanginess I prefer with this style. Citrus fruits and rinds with bitterness throughout and a lingering dry, piney finish. Sticky. ante (2951), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 17, 2005 orange colour, small bubbly head. Hoppy aroma of oranges, nectarines, pines and alcohol. Flavour starts sweet of nectarines but finishes really hoppy of orange-peels and grapefruit. blankboy (3212), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Pours a slightly hazy yellow-gold, lots of bubbles, with an average size lasting foamy white head. Decent lacing. Big aroma of citrus, pine and floral hops with some caramel malt to balance things out -- very nice. Flavour follows the aroma and unlike last time I do not find it too hoppy but the bitter alcoholic aftertaste is slightly unbalanced, still a damn tasty beer though. Medium bodied. A great IPA!

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, tupalev & jerc -- courtesy of tupalev. Pours a clear orange with a small white head. Aroma of hops, hops and hops and I loved it! Also some citrus, malt and tea way in the back. The flavour, well, unless you’re a hop-head I wouldn’t bother with this one. I am a hop-head, and I really liked it but even I found it a tad too hoppy. Still, it was very enjoyable. jerc (3945), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 16, 2005 Golden yellow with a small fluffy white head (3+). Good lacing. Big pine and resin aroma. Interestingly hoppy, wiht lots of leafy resiny hops and trace hints of tea. A touch more malt and balance would ease it closer to perfection. Medium palate. Nice, thanks tupalev.
