Commercial Description:
For our hopping regime we went with Cascade and Nuggets in the boiling addition. Centennials were added every 5 minutes for the last 30 minutes of the boil. We added Crystals into the whirlpool. Dry hopping was done in both the fermentor after primary fermentation and the bright tank. We used a mixture of Chinook, Nuggets, and Sterlings in the fermentors and whole leaf Centennials in the bright tank.

Bottle: pours golden amber with a thin white head, aroma of citrus (orange really) and hops, taste is buttery, hoppy, nice bitter finish. Very good DIPA.

22oz bottle from Charles Street Liquors, Boston. Gold colour, thin head. Massive hoppy aroma. Definitely lots of mandarin orange to go with the herbaceous and the resinous. Orange also to the fore on the palate. Coupled with a warming alcohol presence and a fairly sweet mouthfeel, I find distinct echoes of Cointreau or some other orange liquer. There’s quite a strong bitterness to go with the sweetness that lingers into the aftertaste together with a slightly hot alcohol remnant. Undeniably a big beer with not much room for subtlety. Very tasty but just a touch too sweet, verging on syrupy, for me.

Pours golden with a big white head. Aromas of tangerine and grapefruit. Flavors are much more subtle of tangerine and grapefruit. Initial sip was bitter but that faded quickly. Overall a very good IPA.

22 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. This beer’s 500th rate! Hooray! Pours a clear golden color with a medium frothy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is beautiful, floral and citrus hop notes with a bit of a resiny bite in the end. Taste is citrus hops with a good amount of bitterness, some floral notes and some nutty malty notes. Medium-full bodied. Good beer.

22 oz. bottle from Grape & Gourmet. Dark orange pour with a thin off-white head. Strong and clean aroma of fresh cut grass, pine needles, and a hint of grapefruit. Very smooth pineapple and tangerine flavor but with a good amount of hop bitterness. This is a very good DIPA. Well above average.

Bottle Pours a clear golden orange with an okay off white head. The head has average staying power and laces quite well. Has a good hoppy aroma of citrus and spruce. Has a good carbonation. The flavor is hoppy without being to bitter. Has nice touches of oranges. Has a medium body. The texture is strangely chalcky. Has a solid finish with a good aftertaste. This is a decent drinkable IPA.

Ehh, wasn’t terribly impressed by this IPA (maybe I was being overly critical this day). Aroma is citrusy (grapefruits, some orange) and floral hops. Flavor similar. Definitely enjoyable for what it was.

On cask at Rattle n Hum. Pours a murky, cloudy grapefruit colour with no head. Strong grapefruit and orange presence. Aroma of orange, grapefruit and hops. Flavor is the same as the aroma. Tangy and a little bitter.
