Commercial Description:
A homage to traditional European beers brewed for quenching the thirst of farm workers of "Saisonaires." A unique Belgian Saison yeast is used to impart a mixture of spice, fruity and earthy notes along with a lip smacking palatability.

July 2006 - Golden straw color, pillowy head. Sweet aroma with a touch of farmhouse funky. The flavor profile was similar to Hennepin...a tad sweet and a tad "underfunked" for a typical saison, but delicious nonetheless. Wheaty base, fruity, spices and pepper and a touch of honey. Excellent for a summer night on the deck (which is exactly how I had it)!

I think Christian (alohaC) brought this to Logan’s tasting at PP bottle shop. Yellow amber color. Strong corriander aroma. Sweet. A hint of spice or sour in a nice way. Very nice.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium to dark yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain, bread), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs, apricot), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of pepper, bubble gum, cotton candy. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, creamy/velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Well, it’s not very saison-like. It’s certainly a nice enough Belgian golden ale, but it’s way too sweet and candyish. Call it something else and I’ll give it a higher score, ’cause it’s not a bad beer...it’s just not a saison.

Honey colored, some wheat beer ’spice’ taste. Refreshing and satisfying beer. Hides alcohol well in taste.

22 oz bottle. Clear copper with a slight white head. Nose of pear, apple, citrus and mild funk. Tingly carb works nicely with a medium light, oily body. Taste is wheat candi and green cantaloupe. Dry and lemon pepper finish. Simple and refreshing. Good.

On tap at Zeno’s. Citrusy funky hop nose, sour honey and some yeasty goodness. Pear and apricot, wirh sour apple. Cloudy otange-amber, with thin off-white lacing head. Medium bodied with light carbontion. Starts with bubblegum and chalky spicy notes, orange blossom and honey. Sweet malt, light chalky yeasty goodness, and mild dry finish. Very mild to medium tasty beer, very reminiscent of a saison or biére de garde. Light bitter floral and honey-orange sweet after. Good job.

Tap at Barcade: Cloudy golden/orange pour topped by a creamy white, lasting head. Lots of spicy citrus in the aroma. Hints of orange peel, white pepper and light yeast esters. Thick velvety carbonation. Lots of citrusy flavors, mostly oranges, coriander and white pepper spiciness and a mild floral character. A nice, citrusy Saison.
