Commercial Description:
A homage to traditional European beers brewed for quenching the thirst of farm workers of "Saisonaires." A unique Belgian Saison yeast is used to impart a mixture of spice, fruity and earthy notes along with a lip smacking palatability.

Golden saison with a thin white head. A diacetyl aroma, buttery, with light malt and hops, rather herbal. In mouth, a biscuitty malt, with light coriander notes, not unpleasant, but very buttery mouthfeel. Still dont like those american tries at Saison in the US. Bought at Party Source, Syracuse, August 2006. 5-3-6-2-12

A golden hazy ale with a thick creamy off white head. Aroma of sweet malt, notes of cantaloupe and mandarine. In mouth, creamy spiced malt with light coriander, cardamom and mandarins. Rich bodied Saison. Bought at Bessette’s around fall 2007. 8-4-8-4-14

22oz - thanks clarkVV - Aroma is yeasty, locker room, spice, and hops. Pours hazy orange with a small head and good lacing. Flavor is stronger than aroma with hops and spicy yeast taking over. Palate is crisp and tart. Not as funky as a Euro saison, but still damn tasty.

Another fine brew from one of my favorite breweries. Golden amber with lots of white foamy head. More earthy aroma then the fruits in the intro but can that be all bad?? NO. The sour, bitter fruitiness of this made it nice to sip on with a nice chunk of cheese.

Clear orange pour with sparkling body and fizzy-white head that diminishes quickly. Hay, grass, lemon, dough and clove greet the nose with a fairly heavy scent. Medium body and a slightly sticky texture highlight a moderately sweet flavor. A light bitterness fills the finish along with high acidity. Tart at the end with a slight metallic aftertaste, but not enough to ruin this very enjoyable beer.

Bright orange pour with a creamy head that quickly settles into a thin layer. Prickly CO2 pierces the surface as it rapidly cascades from the bottom. The yeast character in the nose is phenomenal - earthy with airy esthers and a healthy layering of alcohol underneath. A tinge of lemon is present as well. Similar characteristics are present in the body as well - unfortunately the body seems to lack sufficient malt to balance things out. Some light notes of bready malts are present, but the earthy yeast easily overwhelms and the alcohol really peppers the finish. Still, this is mostly delicate and really easy to drink.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc, mds & tupalev -- courtesy of jerc. Pours a clear orange-gold with a small diminishing white head. Nice aroma of yeast, spices and a variety of fruit. Flavour is quite fruity along with spices and a good amount of sweet malt and yeast -- one of the tastier Saisons I’ve tried. Medium bodied. Well done, I really enjoyed this.

Bottle. Pale copper-orange body with a small white head. The aroma is fruity - banana, sweet pears, mild floral spiciness. The flavour is sweet and fruity with apple and pears peaking through; though there isn’t a whole lot of spiciness other than some weak pepper. Finishes slightly watery.

Bottle: Courtesy of Styles. Aroma has losts of apple, yeast, and some faint spice. Pours a tranparent golden-orange with a small white head. Lots of yeastiness up front wiht a hint of apple. Slight tartness in the middle. Finishes with a light flowery bitterness, orange peel, and a touch of ginger. Smooth mouthfeel with soft carbonation.
