Nice yeasty lemon aroma - soft malt too - excellent. Deep yellow, small white head. Nice sweet malty taste, lots of yeast and citrus. A very nice example of a saison by a brewery that never disappoints. GregClow (2511), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Light orange-amber with a wispy head. Aroma is spicey, yeasty and a little funky, with some nice orange peel notes. Flavour is very nice - fruity and herbal, with notes of orange, pineapple and apricot, and a bit of spice and yeast in the finish. Very nice! bu11zeye (5621), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 21, 2006 Golden body with a moderate creamy off white head (3+). Spice in aroma, black and white pepper, green spices. Light spice in the flavour, pepper and ambiguous fruit – plums, apricots? Dry toasty malt finish. Average palate. A solid brew in the saison/biere de garde ballpark. Recommended to try for sure. 8/4//7-8/3/16-17 vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 19, 2006 Huge thanks to Beerdrenched for sharing this fine saison. Poured cloudy and orange with a soapy white head. Aroma was very earthy with coriander, sour fruitness (nectar fruits / citrus) and even hints of vanilla. Medium body with light semi-sharp carbonation. Taste has lots of fruitiness and spice. There is a nectar-like sharpness and a good amount of earthy qualities. Some citrus mixed in as well. When the yeast is poured in the beer becomes much smoother. All around great beer. HogTownHarry (4025), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 19, 2006 Updated: Aug 20, 2006Bottle (650ml). Shared with blankboy, GregClow, jerc, mds and tupalev, jerc’s bottle. Clear gold-amber with a quickly diminishing white head. Spicy, herbal, fruity/malty aroma, plenty of mild yeast - nice! Simple but appealing soft flavour, sweet malt, lots of herbal/spicy character, with citrus zest, it kept subtly shifting around, never got boring, well done, really, good yeast profile. I found the body actually thick, quite surprising, just carbonated and astringent enough to keep the level of refreshment up - a well-made saison, nice and spicy, not too aggressive - this one and the Black Oak Saison here in Ontario (this year’s version, not the ’04 one) have been huge, pleasant surprises for me - thanks for sharing, Jer, and I’m glad I still have a bottle of this in my fridge. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA
