| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 18, 2009 Draught at Pony Bar, New York Hazy blond color. Light aroma, very light apples. Sweetish and fruity malt flavor, and very subdued spices; it’s not bad, but it seems they picked up the wrong yeast to let it be a real Farmhouse. Pleasant but easy. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 16, 2009 A delicious saison. It’s obviously an American attempt at the style, but still very good. Aroma was nice. Strong apricot and peach. Pour was a beautiful medium orange with a huge 4 finger white head with big bubbles. Taste was like fruit cocktail...strong fruity flavor with a yeasty bite. Strong carbonation. Very wet aftertaste unlike a true saison (in my opinion) which should be dry. Good nonetheless. Palidor19 (1798), Brandon, Florida, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 16, 2009 The aroma is a bit funky with spice, citrus, yeast, malt, and cabbage. The appearance is deep gold with a large head. The flavor is somewhat like the aroma elements but it does not have much funk which I was happy to find out. The palate is smooth. Overall a very good beer. unclemattie (2441), Georgia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 12, 2009 22oz bottle. Vintage 2009. Hazy golden pour. Tall, thick and creamy, mountainous head of foam. Lots of perfect spherical bubbles rising to the surface. Beautiful carbonation. Aroma of fruity yeast and bread. Flavor is of a dry malt, lots of yeasy flavors. A bit of citrus and some banana. Citrus zest and tropical fruit, very complex fruitiness all on top of a vell malted body.. An excellent American take on a unique style of beer. I really liked this one.

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Dec 4, 2009 Incredibly boring in the glass, although the head and lacing are considerable the color is lifeless and bland. The nose is barnyard funk but nothing else, and the flavor offers little but that funky quality and a lot of spicy pepper. I wanted to like this beer; I really love saisons, Smuttynose is a quality brewer, but ultimately I couldn’t support this too much.
