Deep dark brown color. Smells of sweeter malts, raisins, and yeast. Taste is full of sweeter stuff. Raisins, figs, stuff like that. Medium bodied. Leaves a nice little aftertaste that I personally liked. A pretty good brew.

Dark brown pour with a quarter-inch tan head. Aroma of figs, molasses, raisins. Flavor is big, rich and full: tons of dark fruit, candi sugar, and a touch of black licorice. Soft and full on the palate. Excellent.

From the 22 oz "big beer" series this Belgian Quadrupel poured a deep amber with a thin tan head - this beer seemed to get darker the longer it sat in the glass. Aroma of alchol, dark fruits, caramel and yeast. Raisin, fig and alcohol were the first tastes I picked up on along with some candy and caramel. Yeasty finish.

Dark golden brown, almost opaque with an off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, tart fruit, alcohol is very evident. Thin mouthfeel. Very tout on the tip of the tongue, alcohol is warming and clos to overpowering. The hops peek through at the back of the tongue with just a bit of bitterness, but are overpowerd by the sweetnes at the tip of the tongue. I like big beers, but this is a little over the top, and tough to drink.

bottle from 02/09 by way of zathrus13... pours a hazy shade of deep amber with a fluffy tan head. initial smell is green and hoppy?... odd, though it is followed by golden raisins, cinnamon, malt powder, a bit of spice, piloncilla and slightly oxidized red apples. the palate is not nearly as sweet as i was expecting it to be (many of these quads are cloyingly so)... actually it would finish rather dry and clean if it were not for a banana starch-like aftertaste... flavors of chocolate covered caramels, yeasty bitterness, bubblegum, some sort of dark fruit and candi. medium body is seemingly thin and lacking richness compared to other quads but it makes up for that with prickly carbonation, a clean mouth feel and great drinkability. 7/4/7/4/15/3.7

Slightly hazy amber-brown with little head. Some burnt sugars, wood and faint dark fruit notes. Possibly faint bubblegum and herbal hops. Quite sweet, with some unrefined sugar notes, hints of fig and fruit and slight smokey notes. Sticky finish. I like the malt flavours but this borders on being too cloying.

Bottle. Semi-opaque garnet color. Aroma of candi sugar, berries, fruit cake, cherry cola. Smooth palate. Enters nice and bready but finishes strange, the aftertaste is really weird and I think it’s yogurty or yeasty, changes the chemistry of my mouth like that. Sweet and simplistic, disappointing even.

Bottle. Murky dark ruby pour. Small tan head. Aroma is dark fruits, sweet malts, caramel, candy and light yeast notes. Taste is strong caramel, brown sugar, sweet malts, dark fruit, candy and light yeast notes. As this goes down, the fruit notes come out much stronger. Body is medium and rather chewy with a creamy carbonation. Ends with more candy notes, dark fruit, caramel, sweet malts, light yeast and hints of chocolate.
