Sampled at Max’s American Beer Fest. Pours an opaque black with a cloudy white head. Aroma of dark fruits and candy sugar. Nice flavor, sweet and chewy, raisins come through nicely, Belgian candy sugar and some nuttiness. Full bodied with a sweet finish. Very drinkablefor a quad.

Update, i couldn’t finish the bottle, way to sweet, I dub this beer UNDRINKABLE. This strong dark looking ale has tons of fruit and malty DNA. Not much of any bittering hops. Great aroma. It does however, contain to much sweetness for my tastes. It’s like a rum raisin brother to the Dogfish 120.

650ml bottle. Was distracted by rubber band hits to the hand. But.. poured a nice deep brown. Dark fruits, plum, molasses. Good for Smutty but around average in the style.

Not what i wanted. Pour was a brown with orange tint to it small head junk lacing. Aroma was of dark fruits, plums and yeast. Flavor was much the same but was overwelmed by sweetness. Sticky beer.

Pours dark reddish brown with a short lasting tan head. Aromas of dark fruits and candy sugar with some alcohol. Very sweet. Raisins and candy sugar are the dominant flavors. I’m also getting some rum and honey. Medium to full body with a syrupy mouthfeel and soft carbonation. A decent beer, but just too sweet for me.

Pours a clear mahogany, beautiful ruby glow, with a yellowish head. Good retention, but no lace. Caramel-alcohol aroma, bit of bitter melon here, also some smoke. Kind of messy combination, honestly a bit frightening. Malt-bomb sweetness, full of raisin, fig, caramel. Lightly citric aromatic hops. The belgian yeast comes through as a sweet creaminess on the finish, but really no funkiness here. Full, syrupy palate, minimal carbonic liveliness. Could be a decent dessert sipper.

cloyingly sweet, hurts your teeth almost. Sugar flavor, like a can of unhopped malt extract. Either from Daknole, Oakes, or Beershine- can’t remember.

Deep amber, slight but lasting creamy head. Sweet caramel malt aroma mixed with dark fruit, primarily cherry and plums. Flavor matched. Perhaps just a touch sweet for my tastes, but a nice beer overall.
