Thanks Glen for sharing. Dull Ruby in color. This quad was very complex, sweet, with figs and fruits behind, some lingering finsih to enjoy. A really nice beer that continues the Smuttynose reputation

Draft at Rattle ’n Hum. Poured a slightly hazy ruddy brown color. The head was off white and left some lace behind. Smelled of chocolate, cherry, and a bit of anise. Medium to full bodied and semi-sweet. Boozy with toffee, raisin, and clove flavors.

Bomber - Pours a dark reddish brown in color with no head and almost no carbonation. Aroma is very sweet and fruity... dark fruit, RAISINS and caramel. Flavor is very sweet with lots of dark fruit, sweet wine and brown sugar. Thick palate. Alcohol is apparent at the end. Finish is lingering and sweet.

Bottle… mgumby10’s & hopscotch’s WtFFfFDotF Throwdown … Hazy burnt orange ale with a small, creamy, beige head. The sweet aroma is a malty, candied cornucopia of raisins and other dark fruits, brown sugar and toffee. Full-bodied and a touch syrupy with mellow carbonation. Big chocolaty, vinous sweetness in both the flavor and finish. Too sweet. Thanks to mgumby10 for providing the bottle!

22 oz bottle. Clear dark brown with tan wisps and lacy edges. Nose is woody banana, caramel and plum. Soft prickly carb, medium body. Taste is raisin, brown sugar and orange peel; fruitcakey. Finishes kind of dull and papery.

bottle courtesy of Tony @ OTH. Pours dark brown, beige head. Aroma, strong dark fruits, malty. Taste, light caramel malts, some raisins / dark fruits. Good quad, and definitely a different approach to the style.

(Rating #2319)

Rudy hue when the light shines through the umber body. Moderate taupe head and just a little bit of lace(3+). Dark fruit aromas, with figs and dates. Some yeast and I catch a bit of corn silage along with earthy toasted grain and nuts. Quite light in feel for the size of this brew. Light fruity malt flavors. Raisins, light currants and lightly fortified white wine flavors sneak in. Finish shows a hint of alcohol. The linger has a nice return of toasted malt and brown sugar. Not a ton of complexity, but a good strong ale for a cold spring day.
