Courtesy hopscotch. Pours a dark ruby maroon, with a medium light beige head. Smells of mostly dark fruits, grapes, plums, figs, and sweet malts. Maybe a dosage of candy sugar in there as well. Pretty standard, yet inviting aroma. The flavor also seemed fairly standard for this style, yet every other quad Ive been trying has seemed that way. Maybe the style is boring me. Very sticky on the palate. it was mostly the sweet fruitiness of it giving it its flavor profile. Just another solid quad, without any real noticeable flaws, but doesnt leave me grasping for another bottle.

Dark mahogany color, thin broken light tan head. Sweet aroma of plum, Belgian yeast, candi sugar. Taste is smooth, starts with a measured sweetness and moves on to a more caramel and Belgian yeast middle and finish. Not as much twang on the back end as most quads, but still a nice quad.

Bottle. Pours a dark, dark amber color, not much head to speak of. Smells mostly of candied raisins and plums and peppery alcohol notes. Flavor follows the nose, with that black pepper bite showing up immediately in the front of the palate, with a hefty dose of warming booze heat in the back. Heavy dark fruit and malt sweetness in the middle that could use some toning down. Flavor improves as it warms, with the sweetness blending in more with the booze. Finish is thick and heavy but relatively clean on the finish. This one seems that it would benefit a lot from some time in the cellar, let the flavors blend a bit more.

Poured a clear chestnut color. Sweet malty aroma with some mild yeasty notes. Some dark fruits. Sweet malty flavor with notes of chocolate. The beer taste good but not much going on.

Beautiful garnet pour with magnanimous beige head. Aroma attacks the nostril upon uncapping and fills the immediate area with raisin and caramel. Molasses, spicy yeast, and toffee malts poke through with equal vigor. Flavor is tangy and sweet- a sneaky citrus poke followed by raisin wallop. Caramel, molasses, and toffee comprise the finish and act as a moderator to the subtle undertones of roasty delight. Palate is thick and coating, finishing clean and crisp. Perhaps a lighter example of the style, but expertly crafted just the same.
