looks like it could be appealing, but falls short of everything else. with unpleasant tartness that makes it barely undrinkable

Wooh, is that tart. Yes, I’d figure for a fruit beer, I was to expect it, but WHY does everybody over do it with the tart fruits? Granted it’s good, but alone, this is just a bit too tart. Pours coppery colored with a this, thin head. pretty watery in the mouth. A little wheat on the nose, and a slight sweetness of the flowery fruit. A little stale nutty scent as well (Bottle Pour 2/3/2008)

Pours a dark amber, off white head. Aroma is slight, flowery. Taste is very unique, a lot of cranberry. My least favorite smuttynose offering to date

Sorry I guess fruit beers just aren’t my thing. 12 ounce bottle from Glenville beverage. Pours a dark brown. Brewed with cherries, tastes tart. Had a nice head and nice lace, but I just couldn’t finish it.

Interesting pour- light reddish with modest head. Aroma was slightly dissapointing... predominantly malt with a hint of floral hops. Taste was slightly sour and tart like a lambic, but not nearly to the same degree. Very drinkable and enjoyable, but dissapointing in terms of Smuttynose quality.

Wow, not even quite sure where to start with this... Pours a light red which is fairly off the spectrum of normal beer. Glass lacing is very thick and consistent. Aroma is cherry with a bit of skunkiness. Flavor however is strongly of sour cherry. If you enjoy sour mixed drinks, this might be something you would enjoy, otherwise the sour cherry would probably get overwhelming fast. Palate is more akin to soda than beer. Personally, the sour beers are growing on me and the thing that really brings it down is the aroma.

12 oz bottle. Pours a semi clear copper with an average head. Nose is fruity. Taste is muted fruit on a good malt backbone. Body is medium. A nice fruit beer.

Bottled. Poured reddish brown w/smallish active head. Smell was cherryish. But alas that is the good part. In the end, this tastes like beer mixed with cranberry, or like diet red bull. Avoid.
