Aroma has a very light cherry hint and a bit of hops and fruit. Flavor is tart and has a lot more cherry in it. Sweet and sour aftertaste. Kinda weird. Flavor is better than the aroma. 19641948 (491), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 6, 2007 Pours a hazy light scarlet hue with a tiny off-white head. Little lacing. Seems too dreary for a bright fruity brew. Aromas are artificial cherry juice box. Toastiness present. Flavors seem forced yet ironically mild and quiet. A touch of earthy soil in the background. Cherry juice is seen, but it doesn’t meld well for me. Toast appears nicely. Thinnish body. Drinkable yes, but in the end it’s easily a one-and-done. yesyouam (611), Fairport, New York, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Aug 1, 2007 Hanami ale is a deep reddish amber with a white ring. The aroma is faint with some wood and some fresh fruit. It is thin and watery with a tannic feel-- yuck! It is very acidic, sour and... SOUR! like a dill pickle. Pretty strange. blklab2007 (986), Connecticut, USA

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 27, 2007 Musty malt, eggy and stinky. Interesting label, cloudy medium tea colored with perhaps a bit of a ruddy tinge. Sour, tarty, lightly bittered. Nothing much other than the cherries going on here. Some spice on the side of the tongue. Medium tart finish. JAF737300 (804), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 22, 2007 12oz. Bottle: Lightly sweet aroma. Smells malty with notes of caramel and cherry. Smells a bit like Robitussin. Poured amber in color with a pinkish hue and a tiny, off-white head that diminished rapidly. Tiny lacing. Hazy. Lightly sparkling. Medium sweet, lightly tart flavor. Tastes of chocolate malts, cherries, and nuts. Light body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Medium-length chocolate malt finish. Overall, not bad. BuckeyeSammy (456), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
