I expected more of a Cherry Wheat taste, but it was very obvious that Smuttynose loaded up on the cherry juice. A bit too much for me, and I’ve had several people agreed (people who like SA Cherry Wheat). It poured a ruby red color and was sweet and tart with a overbearing Cherry taste. thenick (746), North Bellmore, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 16, 2007 One of very few beers from Smuttynose I actually like. Pours a reddish color with a small white head. Aroma is almost wholly of sour cherries. Taste is sour cherry up front with a bit of a sour, malty, hoppy finish to the beer. Mild carbonation ensures a relatively smooth mouthfeel. A good beer for those cool-to-warm spring days. tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 13, 2007 I don’t think that cherry is really meant for beers (maybe ommegang is different) cause a lot of times they just taste off. The pokemon cover makes less sense to me. Not really worth drinking again. It looks pretty but, tastes for from it. EithCubes (2176), Indiana, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 11, 2007 Rating No. 1200. Bottle. Funky cherryish aroma, dry and tart with a high dose of yeast. Clear pale pink with a rocky, soapy beigish head and LOADS of carbonation. Bone dry, somewhat yeasty taste, little cherry but medium tart, smoother than expected by the look of the thing. Medium body and bone, bone dry aftertaste. Not really a successful experiment, but worth a go. jcwattsrugger (5582), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 7, 2007 12oz bottle-pours a thick retaining off white head that laces and amber color. Aroma is fruit, wheat/grain. Taste is sweet fruit-cherry on the syrupy side, grain/malt, secondary/faint hops bite. Medium body. Good carbonation. jason (1627), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jul 6, 2007 Bottle. Pours a deep red body with thin head. Aroma is faint off cherry smell. Flavor is sugary, syrupy and a very light cherry taste. This one tasted a little off balance with not enough fruit taste in there to be a decent fruit beer. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 4, 2007 slightly hazed reddish orange body. Creamy off-white thin head. Aroma is brown ale malt, light cherries. Flavor tastes like a light brown ale mixed with cinnamon and similar spices, blockaded by sour cherries. Interesting but I’m not a fan of lighter beers mixed with sour cherries. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA
