WOW!, this was a very dissapointing beer. The first sip of this ale was like a sucker punch in the gut. I had to take another sip to make sure the beer wasn’t bad. Way too much sour/tart cherry flavor that kills the whole taste. Imagine rancid cherry juice and beer, these flavors don’t mix. (I was expecting a japanese style ale with a touch of sweet cherries).

I had this at Canterbury’s in Huntington, NY and I was struck by its sour cherry and hops taste. As I had more of it, then I realized it might be good for an after dinner taste or once in a while.

Thanks to Tish for the birthday present! Pours a pinkish hazed amber with an off white head that.....uh its kinda pink. the head is somewhat loose and settles quickly leaving ok lacing. aroma somewhat strange dried cherries and cranberries with underlying pilsnerish malt and hops...not sure if I like it or not. sweet tart cranberry cherry flavor. the flavor reminds me of the cranberry ginger ale my dad always goes crazy for at christmas. tart bitter dry finish. again something about the finish makes me think a pilsner with cherries. medium body lively carbonation. not horrible...worth trying one bottle

Not bad. not as bad as people say. It was a bit sour. But somtimes so is a vagina. But I’m not going to give a vagina a bad review now am I?

From tap pours copper with a good amount of head. More of a sweet flavor, and a smooth finish.

Decent sized off white head of fine bubbles. Light carbonation. Feint sour cherry aroma with some spices and tart cranberries. Color is a hazy orangish red. Weak flavor. Tart cranberries and light malts. Dry and pasty in the mouth. Finishes sour and dry. Not a good idea for this one.

Clear light copper color. Light wheat-y aroma with a hint of sweetness in it. Very wet and refreshing in the mouth, but the taste is awash with a mellow tarty sourness. If I hadn’t read the label, I never would have guessed "cherry". Well, maybe eventually, but not at first. It’s ok, not as bad as everyone has been saying (immensely better than any budcoorsmiller), but not nearly as good when compared with the rest of Smuttynose’s brilliant offerings.
