gws57 (948), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Apr 17, 2008 Had this one bottled in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, thanks Slothgar! Pinkish yellow pour, hazy, with a soft and fluffy pinkish head. Nose is of almond, sweet malts, and light grassy hops; tartness of cherries is balanced by sweet and bitterness of orange rind. Light and refreshing finish. Not a bad beer at all.

Pours a dark maroon opaque color with a medium lived beige head. Smell is lightly fruity malt and perhaps a touch of almost cinnamony spice. Taste is tart, sweet fruitiness reminiscent of plums and perhaps cherries. Dry plum like flavor, and very crisp and refreshing. Surprisingly good compared to the overall ratings. Quenching and enjoyable. Thanks again! pineypower (841), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA Jun 22, 2008 Pours out cloudy brown with a slight ruby hue, moderate head. Aroma is of tart cherry. Taste is of some tart cherries with a little malt for balance, slightly dry finish. Overall it just didn’t all come together for me mansquito (562), Boston/Philadelphia, USA Jun 13, 2008 Slightly red and muddy brown colored. Really big head to it, especially for a fruit beer. Slight cherry aroma with something else in the smell that I can’t pick out at the moment. Pretty sour tasting. Tart cherry flavors are most prominent. Tiny bit of the taste of malts. I actually did not really think it to be that great. ivan9856 (122), Arlington, Virginia, USA Jun 9, 2008 I sampled at 12 oz. bottle. Pours a copper-colored body, with little foam or head. The aroma is sour and musty, with a few aroma hops. Palate entry is instantly tart, with little malt character, which appears in the mid-palate backbone and long finish. Tart cherry flavors predominate, and there is a strong drying coda with some light hop character. Interesting, but a bit overdone. craftycarl21 (91), USA Jun 6, 2008 pours a mostly opaque dark red with minimal head. aroma is of tart cherry, spice, and sweetness, almost like some sort of sugary beverage. flavor certainly gets points for being unique- tart cherry is dominant, with the sweetness lingering. the mouthfeel isn’t bad, a little watery, and has the feeling of drinking the little ice cream remnants of a root beer float. i think this is underrated due to it’s odd nature, but still a drinkable and decent brew.
