12 oz. brown bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a reddish amber color, with no head. Aromas are of canned cherry concentrate, lager yeast.
Flavors are same as aromas. Lager yeast & canned cherry juice.
Thin body & mouthfeel. Not very good, IMHO.

Dec 14, 2009 Pours a nice coppery brown with a fairly thick if not persistent head. Aroma is malty, yeasty, slightly fruity and a bit sweet, typical for an ale. Flavor is quite fruity, rather like a cider, a little fruity-sweet with a firm tone of cherry and some malt. Texture is quite smooth and a little fizzy, leaving a sour cherry finish.

Nov 23, 2009 this one just doesnt work, the cherry taste doesnt jive with the ale flavor and creates a really sour, annoying taste that doesnt make you want to have another sip, let alone another beer.

Nov 14, 2009 8th June 2008. A little bit sour with a tart well blended cherry undertone. Not so much a cherry beer as a tart fruity ale.

Sep 8, 2009 this was a poor fruit beer. The cherry flavor was almost non-existent. The aroma was so slight the I had to really try to feel it. The beer is smooth and light, the women will love it.

Aug 28, 2009 Reddish brown pour with a small head. Cherry aroma with a bitter cherry flavor. I expected more from smutty, but I don’t find this to be as bad as many people seem to think. I would choose this over most fruit beers because it has more pale ale characteristics than most fruit beers I’ve had. The cherry flavor is tart compared to the sweeter cherry flavor found in something like a Sam Adams Cherry Wheat or Bells Cherry Stout.

Aug 21, 2009 Not good. Too thin, even for the style. Tart cherries and some strange acidity that was not pleasant. Bitter and sour finish. No complexity in the flavor. Not malty or hoppy, just boring. Like a bad sour ale.

Aug 17, 2009 my friend told me this tastes like sam adams cherry wheat and i got nervous beforehand because cherry wheat tastes like cherry 7up. this was a billion times better. i bought it 2 days in a row and then never wanted it again, its thats kind of beer. Its a bitter, tart cherry sensation and then it kinda lingers stale in your mouth. at first i really liked it but never again. atleast, i have a funny looking bottle for display...

Aug 7, 2009 12 ounce bottle from Wine and Beer Westpark in Richmond, VA. Pours a clear cherry red, appropriately enough. Medium head with moderate head retention and lacing. Aroma is sweet cherries with grainy bread notes. Taste is cherries and green apple with a bitter finish. Medium bodied.
