Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 4, 2005 A black beer with a brown head. The aroma is of roasted malt combined with notes of alcohol and chocolate. The flavor is sweet roasted with notes of chocolate, straw, and and alcohol, and a very smooth mouthfeel. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 7, 2006 Updated: Sep 9, 2007(Bottle 65 cl) Pours completely black and opaque with a light brown head. Sweetish aroma of lightly burned malts. Very solid body with distinct sweetish and hard roasted malts with some vanilla accents. Some bitterness from the malts. 011206 and 070907 omhper (12155), Stockholm, Sweden Oct 2, 2006 Bottled. Black, brief head. Extreme grapefruit aroma. Under the hop detived flavours of peach, lychee and grapefruit lies tar and licorice. The roasty malt plays second fiddle to th ehops, and in a blind test I could have mistalen this for an IIPA. Very bitter finish. Soft and relatively drinkable. Offering an interesting twist on the style, and a wonderful beer. yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Sep 9, 2007 Blind tasting at sk8vikings porter / stout tasting, beer no 30. Pours dark black to brown with a brown lacing head. Dark malt, slight roasted aroma. Soft mellow liqourice and chocolate flavour. Dry hoppy finish. oh6gdx (8801), Vasa, Finland Oct 4, 2006 Bottled. Pitch black colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma of conifereous woods, alcohol, licorace, strong hops and roasted malts. Flavour is pitch, roasted malts, old coffee, alcoholic sweetness. Wellbalanced and lovely. MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark Dec 19, 2006 Bottle. Very hoppy aroma, sweet. Black colour, brown head. The flavour is nice with a good teaishness, very hoppy, too. The aftertaste has a very short coffee burst. Good mouthfeel. The alcohol rises into my nose. A good beer, a bit much, espceially the hops. joergen (8430), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 3, 2006 Bottle.
