A- Pours a clear light orange hue, off-white head dissipates to a ring, big lacing all over
S- Big grass and fresh green hops, touches of citrus and grapefruit, subtle malts, quite delicious smelling
T- Initial taste is green earthy hops, very bitter with some chalkiness, malts are subtle at best, finishes dry and bitter with floral highlights
M- Medium-bodied, oily texture coats the tongue, amped up carbonation
D- The hops are big and bold here, this is a very bitter single IPA, wish there was a little more malt balance, but overall solid and easy drinking nickd717 (1394), Palo Alto, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 9, 2009 A good IPA, but by no means a standout. Fairly typical IPA appearance (not going to bore you here) with a slight haziness. Flavor is sweet malt and a typical East coast hop profile (lots of Simcoe) as well as some Amarillo, which is more typical of West coasters from what I have seen. Drinkable and satisfying but wont knock your socks off. jeff789 (422), Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 6, 2009 Pours a clear amber with a small white head and leaves very little lacing.... Aroma of citrus and pine... This beer is a bit too sweet for my liking... It’s ok, but not nearly as good as others... Generally, i like simcoe hops for flavor and i generally like amarillo bittering hops, but something about this beer doesnt work for me.... Part of me feels like this is a training wheels IPA... killjoy966 (228), Washington, USA

This is the first one I have tried and it is fantastic. Simcoe is quickly supplanting Cascade as my favorite hop variety. Taste is strong and bold and bitter, but also balanced. Excellent IPA. Pours with a small off-white head and a golden body. Aroma of tangerine hops, malt and a bit of skunk. Taste is a bit light struck with faded hops and some weak malts. Fizzy and watery. jkaiser (227), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 18, 2008 Undrinkable. Mostly pine and citrus taste to the point it was offensive. My first IPA in over two months. Maybe that has something to do with my review. aplusbreaks (330), , Colorado, USA

Pours a clear golden amber with a 1 inch white head with decent retention. Pretty good lacing. Aromas of citrus, lemon, grass, and hops. Flavors start as citrus then move into the hop resin, and a bitter finish. Plate is light and bubbly. theisti (1693), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 4, 2008 12 oz bottle courtesy of eaglefan538. Best before Feb 09 stamped on the bottle. Pour is hazed golden orange with a nice one inch off white head. There are a few carbonation bubbles rising slowly to the top. Some lacing after the head settles. Aroma of hops - resin, pine, some citrus peel and ripe pear fruit sweetness. There is malt present as well, grainy and also resinous. Taste is mostly the bitter citrus peel hoppiness initially, though the earthy grainy maly is present in the body, which is medium. The bitterness trails through the beer, and lingers a bit too long in a somewhat sour bitter finish. Overall, a nice, unique IPA - would love to try this fresh on draft, as I imagine that is the way to drink this beer. Thanks for sending this my way, Brian.
