Kinda sucks, and kinda isn’t very good but it’s tolerable. BlackForestCO (827), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

Poured a clear copper-orange color with a thick off-white head that slowly receded and left some decent lacing. Are of citrus fruit (orange, tangerine, light grapefruit), some light hoppiness, a bit of caramel malt, and a soft pine undertone. Fruity, citric entry with some orange and grapefruit that transitions into a piny, leafy hoppiness with a moderate resinous character coupled with a soft caramel maltiness. Moderate carbonation, decent mouthfeel. Nice, solid IPA. spnavitas456 (1), , Alabama, USA does not count | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Oct 29, 2008 This beer was definitly interesting, I know IPA’s are quite hoppy but gosh this was interesting. Poured smooth and smelt quite strong. My first IPA and I felt like I was drinking a pine tree. Very bitter aftertaste. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed the beer, but I need to obviously try other IPA’s before I form I bias. I have a feeling I will begin to like them with time...quite interesting indeed. uhclem (192), Loveland, Colorado, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 21, 2008 Pours a cloudy caramel/honey with minimal white head. Smells of sweet hops and corn with a slight citrus barley note. Tastes of sweet orange and yeast, then immediately bitter pine and grass - most prevalent in the finish. Very juicy mouth feel, but with a pine-tar dryness. Very bitter finish, and perfect for the American hop-lover. MaltOMeal (652), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA

Nose is of floral and pine hops. Taste was predominantly hops and the mouthfeel was medium with a big bitter bite. Needs more flavor though. cblado (149), Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 19, 2008 12 oz bottle. Aroma was very hoppy, with citrus and floral notes underneath. Flavor was mostly floral hops, with some grapefruit as well. There was a subtle malt flavor too, difficult to distinguish from the hop flavor but present nonetheless. Palate was smooth, very drinkable. Overall this was very bitter, even for an IPA, but enjoyable. Beardface (1018), Eugene, Oregon, USA

Very lightly hopped for an IPA, but what I taste I really enjoy. Would love to try more of the Smutty beers.
