K and I brought one back from our trip to manhattan - though I don’t remember specifically where we got it. gold-orange color. thin off-white head. caramel, floral and green apple in the aroma. crisp sweet malt up front then quickly moves on to a long bitter hop finish. pine, citrus and perfume highlights. like this a lot. would be in my rotation if I could get it. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 28, 2008 (Bottle). Inviting bitter aroma. Color is hazy amber with a medium head. Heavily bitter flavor with intense grapefruit, and a lingering bitter finish. Not nearly as well balanced or complex as Dogfish Head 60 Minute. A good choice for lovers of bitterness. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 27, 2008 Bottle from Woodman’s in Kenosha. Golden beet with a nice head. Nose is a bit skunky, though not in the worst way. A little catty as well. Very much in the vein of East Coast IPAs, Quite bitter without the citrusy flavors of I would expect, given the nose offered by santiams, typically. At any rate, it’s got a nice and clean bitterness with a solid backbone of malts that takes a beating. Very nice IPA. Elmowl (12), Annandale, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 27, 2008 Hazy golden beer with lacy head and a somewhat skunky aroma. Flavor is predominated by piney resinous hops. Lasting bitter finish. keepersj12 (816), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 25, 2008 I’ll put this up there with Dogfish Head 60 minute and Troegs Hopback. Very nice balance between the malt and the hops. The bitterness kicks in at the finish. Homebrewerguy (285), Oil City, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jul 22, 2008 color as described in ad, however the bitterness is not balanced by the malttiness, which is light, leaves a nasty hop cling to the palate, should be called "death by hops" nick76 (2694), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 22, 2008 The aroma is malty with a caramel element and lots of pine and citrus hops. The appearance is golden with a large head. The flavor is similar to the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall it’s good.
