Commercial Description:
Maibocks are a traditional Teutonic seasonal specialty. We brew ours to be hugely malty and subtly finished with a variety of continental hops, with an eye-pleasing russet brown color.

Very thin white head which fades rapidly. Clear orange/golden body with a very slight haziness. Sweet malty, sugary, caramel aroma with a bit of floral character. Flavors were very malty and sweet with brown sugar, caramel, and some spiciness. A very slight hint of hops. Palate was slightly sticky and sweet, but well-carbonated and with a very abrupt finish. Very good stuff.

Practically clear with a rich orange-gold hue. Thin head. Aromas of lavender, lemon, perfume with a bit of caramel and toast beneath all the fragrant smells. A little bitterness up front changes to a buttery middle and long butterscotch/caramel finish. Again, fragrant hops and well-integrated caramel and sweet malts. Really good stuff.

Hazy bronze, large head with good lacing and retention. Aroma is huge bread and caramel. Hops are there but play a minor role. Medium bodied with a velvety mouthfeel, fairly sweet. Liquid bread.

Bomber from Oaktree for $4.99. Bottle conditioned with a nice thin yeast sludge on the bottom! Pours a chill-hazed dirty blonde/deep gold- lighter than ramstein. Thins whitish head and some nice cobwebby lace. Aroma is quite different than ramstein but still is very pleasant. Light tropical fruits, floral and lightly grassy hops, tea-like0 earthy and almsot a spicy saison-like aroma with some sweetish caramel malt hints. Nice thick sweet bready and caramel malt flavor- smooth, warm doughy malts as well with an underlying herbal and floral hop character. Very smooth mouthfeel and palate with a clean doughy malt finish. Really nice, and despite the high scores I was a bit hesitant to even buy this. Very good though, but still not quite on par with ramstein.

22 oz. bottle from 2007. A slightly hazy gold pour with some floaties and a thick light-tan head. Hints of bananas, pears, honey and vanilla in the sweet, bready aroma. Medium to full-bodied. Sugary and syrupy. Overly ripe pears, bananas, vanilla extract, caramel and sweet malts dominate the flavor. Kinda buttery. Some herbal qualities and hints of warming alcohol throughout. Good beer, but not a style I’m overly fond of.

On tap at Ortino’s Northside. Appears a golden amber with a small off white head. Small streaks of lace are left around the glass. Smell is of mildly sweet doughy, honey biscuit malt. Taste is of the sweet aromas with a bit of apple and a bit of a citrus and vegatal taste coming through that wasn’t overly appealing. Mouthfeel was crisp, warming, and sweet with a lip smacking sugary syrup feel.
