Excellent carbonation. Aroma of malts and some light fruit. Awesome color of deep red/brown. Flavor is quite smooth with roasted malts, apple and a touch of smoke and alcohol. Finish is excellent with some hops finally showing up and a nice slight bitter aftertaste. Nice alcohol warming and presence. A quality beer that is on the mellow side but still full of flavor and substance. thornecb (1792), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 28, 2009 The pour is bright golden with a pure white head. The nose is big and grainy with a nice layer of hop aroma. The flavor is just an overly sweet mess what the hell. Cloy, corn, and alcohol. I haven’t looked at the stats for this beer, but it tastes bigger than it needs to be. Full bodied and a bit oily. I don’t think I’m finishing this one. JCB (1777), Durham, North Carolina, USA

Much more malty than I’d anticipated, and not quite as crisp as I’d wanted for the style, but it’s flavorful and full. Nice. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
